If you are planning on placing a large order and want to be sure we have what you need, when you need it, the process must be started by May of the previous year which is when we plant. I can supply whatever you need, however, I need to have ample time to plan and schedule planting of stock. The supply nature of our business cannot be compared with a manufacturing plant simply because we cannot ask the production department to come up with a couple of million more cuttings overnight, even if they hire another hundred people. The supplies we have right now is all we will have. I require an initial deposit of 10% of the total cost of the order by May 15th, before I plant. I do this to cover my costs. If you decide not to take this order in the future, at least I have covered payroll and stock costs. On December 15th, when we are ready to start harvesting, I need to have another 10% of the order. Again, without this deposit I will not harvest the trees and you lose your initial deposit. The remaining 80% is expected when the order is ready to be shipped, which can be anytime from December to July. Keep in mind, the earlier in the year you plant, be taller and healthier your trees will be. All orders must be paid in full before they leave the farm. If you come in March and ask for a large order, I can tell you if we have the stock to fill it, but I will not guarantee any of it, unless you put down 20% of the order at this time. Without it, I will not start processing it, if another paid order comes, and that is all the stock we have left, it will take precedence over yours. On large overseas orders, when refrigerated containers are required, you have to make arrangements with the shipping company to bring the container(s) to the farm for us to fill and then take them back for shipping. You can send a representative to oversee any facet of our operations. You are responsible for the shipping and the insurance expenses. Our prices are FOB Grandview Washington and our responsibility ends when the shipment leaves the farm. There are several million hybrid poplar trees growing in China, from cuttings that came from our farm. Another type of player just started inquiring about our cuttings: Energy Companies who will use poplars as biomass fuel... by planting thousands of acres in Western United States. While I am the largest supplier in the nation, I cannot make everybody happy.
